Missing Pieces

Today I present a poem I wrote many years ago that I stumbled across deep in a forgotten drawer. There were a few of them and I will post the other two in the coming days. Hope you enjoy!

Missing pieces

Gaps in my life

Will I ever find them?

Somehow I’m not whole

There is a huge black void

Shapes elude me

I find a square piece

But I’m trying to fill in a circle

Like a two-year-old

All I can do is cry

As the days tick by

The pressure builds

Propelling me into a panicked frenzy

I am on my knees

Praying to find all the pieces in time
